Article: The Naked Suit

The Naked Suit

The Naked Suit

A collaboration with the famed nude landscape artist Spencer Tunick for the September 2009 issue of British Esquire that was designed to demonstrate both the nothing-to-hide-here transparency of Mr Tunick’s work and the incredible, all but unseen, craftsmanship that goes into making a bespoke Richard James suit. Cut from organza, the suit is on permanent display at the Bespoke store on Clifford Street and has become something of a tailoring cause celebre, appearing in numerous publications and on the cover of the academic and writer Christopher Breward’s exhaustive history of what is surely the gentleman’s most aesthetically and practically perfect garment, The Suit.
