Here, pictured on the first floor of the Bespoke store, is the moodboard for our new, in-store and online now SS19 Enter the Dragon collection. As you will quite probably know, the moodboard sums up what the collection is all about and serves to keep us on track when we're putting it together.
And, below, you can read the theme, the traditionally overwritten words that explain something about the colour palette, cloth and key reference points and the like that have contributed to the collection.
Our SS19 Enter The Dragon collection bows down deeply, pulls its black belt tight and butterfly kicks its way back to sultry seventies Hong Kong and a heady, hurly-burly world of kung fu movies, high-stakes high finance and clandestine East-meets-West nocturnal naughtiness.
This is a bold, immediately arresting collection that captures the Pearl of the Orient, the most compelling of the former British colonies, at its most rollicking and rumbustious.
Deep base colours of dove grey, deep blue and pale blue are punctuated by lucid accents of egg yolk yellow, citrus orange and vermillion red.
Flowing, fully cut pure linens and linen, wool and silk blends keep tailoring cool. Cotton, linen and wool toweling and feather-light wool seersucker add contrast and teasing texture.
Punchy, purposeful prints fuse traditional Chinese patterns with contemporary graphics and oversize checks and summer pinstripes lend laser-light clean lines.
Rich jacquard silk prints give ornate lustre to evening wear and pitch-perfect, of-the-era pipe-sleeved raglan bombers.
Join us as we step back to an exhilaratingly hedonistic high-rise scene that straddled the spirit of east and west in a stirring style all of its own.
