Karen Tang

Currently to be seen setting off our new-in AW22 collection at the Savile Row store are a number of sculptures by Karen Tang. 

Entitled Magnetic Combo: Fast Time, Slow Time, the pieces consist of geometric steel modules that can be reconfigured in response to scale and situation. Certainly they have adjusted well to sharing a space with our new collection, which takes its inspiration from Michael Cimino's The Deer Hunter, the protagonists of which were also steelworkers, though less creatively so than Karen.

Karen's work presents structural and material combinations of steel and fibreglass with fluid, painterly surfaces. Ample colour is an intrinsic element.

Karen's exhibition is a part of the Richard James art programme, which is curated by Milan-based art advisor Helen Varola.
