New Collection Notes
The new collection is arriving in-store and online (much, much more coming very soon) and here, by way of some background, are the accompanying notes, the traditionally overwrought and overwritten words that explain the inspiration behind it.
Our AW24/25 collection stands sharply to attention, clicks the heels of its parade-ground polished boots and quick-marches back to ‘50s and ‘60s Hollywood and the big-budget, crash-bang-wallop world of action movies.
This was a fantastical big-screen scenario of rugged masculinity decked out in smart, sculptural military-style tailoring and practical and durable outerwear. Focusing sharply on the winning good guys and eschewing the wanton waste of war, these were films that left a lasting, inimitable aesthetic.
Manly, anchoring colours of olive green, classic khaki and deep navy evoke the attire of the period and are lifted by darting highlights of burnt orange and magenta.
Richly textured oversized herringbone and diagonal twill overcoats, moleskin and corduroy add depth and character, while paying tribute to the robustness of strong, manful style. Fine wools, cashmere, silks and velvets evoke the elegance and refinement of the string-pulling officer class.
Distinguishing pattern pushes through in the form of regimental stripes and contours and abstract camouflage prints. Dip-dyed lambswool roll necks and a knitted wool and cashmere blazer add warmth and welcome comfort.
